Summer vacation in Chiusa South Tyrol – Leisure fun in the Isarco Valley
Hiking, climbing, swimming and biking are the most popular leisure activities in the Isarco Valley during the summer months. Almost 300 sunny days a year are guaranteed in the mountain region south of the Alps. Fantastic hiking areas await you on the nearby Alpe di Villandro, on the local mountain of Bressanone – the Plose – and in the Dolomites. A tandem paraglider flight offers great summer fun for daredevils. In the unlikely case of bad weather, you may visit the adventure pool Acquarena in Bressanone. While parents may relax in the spacious sauna areas, the youngest visitors may romp in the warm swimming pools and on the giant slide. A delightful hike on the so-called “Keschtnweg” (Chestnut Path) leads you along thousands of chestnut trees. The Alpe di Villandro offers ever so beautiful views and is simply perfect for hiking and biking tours. Here, even kids in strollers may come along. Those who wish to go even higher should visit the Funes Valley. At the popular Odle Peaks, mountaineers will find breathtaking views and hiking trails of varying difficulty.
Water fun in high alpine scenery
In the summer months, crystal clear mountain lakes and outdoor swimming pools invite for unlimited water fun in a picturesque mountain panorama. Great refreshment on hot summer days is offered by the outdoor swimming pool in Chiusa – it is easily accessible from the Inn Ansitz Fonteklaus on a hike or bike ride. The artists’ city with its romantic medieval town centre is located just 3.5 kilometres from our manor. The natural lake in Varna and the swimming pond in Luson offer great opportunities for a refreshing dip. In approx. one hour by car you may reach the lake Caldaro and the lake Monticolo – The waters of these beautiful lakes in high summer may reach temperatures up to 24 degrees. If you don’t feel like driving to these lakes in South Tyrol, you may take advantage of the private swimming pond at the Inn Ansitz Fonteklaus for a refreshing swim in alpine surroundings.
